There are 3 common ways to find your home's approximate value: 1. The most accurate way of course is getting an real estate appraiser to determine it's value, however that can cost you anywhere from $300 -$500 on average. Getting a real estate appraisal from a certified residential appraiser is the "recommended" approach if you are a buyer. If you are a seller, the buyer is going to most likely have an appraisal done on your house before he or she buys anyways, so purchasing an appraisal might not always be the best way to figure out your homes value if you are a seller. 2. If you want to get a rough estimation of your homes value, then a good way to do that is by visiting: http://www.zillow.com/. It's free and it gives you a rough estimate of your home's value by comparing recently sold homes in your area. 3. The other method would be to allow me to do a free comparative market analysis on your home using our local MLS. What I do is compare homes similiar to yours that have sold in the last 6 months around your neighborhood to arrive at an approximate value. I then search for similiar homes around your neighborhood that are pending (under contract) and homes that are currently for sale. I use all of this data to come up with an approximate value for your home. It's FREE and gives you an idea of what your home is worth.
